From Inflammation to Illness

Inflammation can be reversed as long as we are aware and we take action towards the causes.

Anything that can cause a potential problem is being treated by your body with an inflammatory process. Inflammation is a process that unchains a series of symptoms that have very serious consequences. Inflammation is the natural response of our body to fight a threat.

It is caused by 3 things: Cortisol, Food, Environmental Factors.

Cortisol is one of the stress hormones. This hormone is being released every time our mind goes into survival mode. There is a huge spectrum of stress and hormone release. The higher the level of stress, more cortisol is released. Think that your body always prioritizes life preservation so, any time you are stressed, either you are stuck in traffic, or you go through a major trauma. Your adrenal system will release cortisol.

Cortisol is a very powerful hormone; it’s meant to keep you alive when your life is in threat. Fortunately, it is very rare for us to have a life-threatening situation, still your body will release cortisol that your body will never use because you rarely need to fight or flight for your life. Right?

That cortisol gets stuck in the muscle tissue ready to be used. The truth is you don’t need it and it stays there piling up consistently throughout the years waiting for you to use it. This phenomenon is called Cortisol Resistance. That means your body can’t tell anymore, if you are stressed or not, that becomes your life, and your body starts fighting itself.

The second reason our body develops inflammation is FOOD. There are 7 inflammatory foods: Gluten, Dairy, Sugar, Corn, Eggs, Soy, Alcohol.

For one reason or another our body has trouble processing these foods. If you want to reduce inflammation you can try to eliminate one food at the time from your diet, completely. It is not easy, but it is as simple as that. Eating anti-inflammatory foods will help: Leafy greens, Superfoods such as turmeric and all the orange vegetables such as sweet potatoes, pumpkins or carrots, will help you with this process

The third reason for inflammation is environmental factors:

The cleanliness of the air we breathe. How much pollution is in it?

The skin products we use from the dye in our clothing to the skin products we use.

The relationships we have at home, at work, or in our community.
